Let’s go back to 69, the record year for the highjackings; the month of May of the previous year is still burning, in France and it is the Woodstock age. The term revolution is the key word everywhere, music, whether rock, pop or folk, enjoys being in the outposts. Four young boys from Monaco, André Fassetta, Guy Galassini and the Szönyi brothers do not want to keep out of the big whirl and create in an emergency state a band whose name Dies Irae (day of wrath in English) sticks to these days. 1971 sees the public first steps of the group, concerts follow, authorized or forbidden, in the MJCs, universities, or pop festivals. In 75 the Golf Drouot, the temple of rock in Paris, awarded a prize to the band. Music is without concession and will change from the Cream, Hendrix or Pink Floyd at the beginning, to total improvisation influenced by free jazz or groups like Magma or Gong, in a happening atmosphere. The life of the band will continue in this way till 79, sharing poster with Jeff Seffer, Magma, or Gong. At the same time, François Szönyi creates the today well known Aďghetta Quartet with an «old » school friend: Alexandre Del Fa. This new experience, much more intimist, has given rise to the enthusiasm of the most varied audiences in the whole Europe. It has also stimulated the enthusiasm of composers and musicians such as Anthony Burgess, the author of Clockwork orange, or John McLaughlin the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Shakti leader who invited them to play in the Time remembered group. More than twenty world premières, and ten recordings at Universal, Harmonia Mundi, Musea, Nocturne, etc..., are evidence of the interest for this ensemble (URL :http ://aighetta.com). Today, François Szönyi, Alexandre Del Fa and Guy Galassini are gathered in the DIES GOA UNIT in an improbable arithmétic, where two members of a band can join two members of an ensemble to form a trio. Since the band performs in several jazzclubs of the Cote d’Azur,his program, in a spirit of adventure, mixes compositions of André Fassetta, Guy Galassini, François Szönyi, Stéphane Szönyi and Alexandre Del Fa, and covers of the Canterbury scene (Caravan, Soft machine ...), between acoustic and electronic, rock, jazz and chamber music; would it be possible to speak of electro chamber music?

Torniamo nel ‘69, anno record per i di dirrotamenti di aerei, il Maggio del ‘68 brucia ancora in Francia ed è l’epoca di Woodstock ! La parola rivoluzione stà su tutte le labbra e la musica rock, pop o folk è a l’avanguardia. Quattro giovani di Monaco, André Fassetta, Guy Galassini ed i fratelli Szönyi non vogliono rimanere al di fuori e creano nell’urgenza la loro band, Dies Irae (I Giorni della Colera). Il ‘71 vede i loro primi passi davanti al pubblico, concerti autorizzati o no, Casa dei giovani, universita, festivals pop. Nel ‘75 il Golf Drouot, tempio del rock parigino, concede un premio al complesso. La musica è senza concessioni e partendo dei Cream, Hendrix o Pink Floyd si cambia in improvisazioni sotto l’influenza del free jazz, di complessi come Gong e Magma in un happening completo. La storia si prosegue cosi fino al ‘79. Nello stesso tempo François Szönyi crèa il noto complesso Aďghetta Quartet con un ex compagno di scuola, Alexandre Del Fa. Questa nuova esperienza , più intimista ha sollevato entusiasma in tutta Europa. Ed ha anche stimolato compositori quali Anthony Burgess, autore di A Clockwork orange, e di John McLaughlin che gli ha invitati a suonare nel suo Time Remembered group. Le loro registrazioni per Universal, Harmonia Mundi, Musea, Nocturne, ecc..., dimostrano l’interesse per il quartetto (URL :http://aighetta.com).Oggi François Szönyi, Alexandre Del Fa e Guy Galassini si sono riuniti in un’aritmetica improbabile dove due musicisti di una band convergono con due altri di un complesso, per formare un trio ! Hanno suonato per vari jazz clubs della Costa Azzura ed anche a fianco di Magma (again !) con un mix di composizioni di André Fassetta, Guy Galassini, François Szönyi, Stéphane Szönyi, Alexandre Del Fa, e cover di Caravan e Soft Machine, fra elettronica e acustica, rock, jazz e musica da camera; è possibile parlare di electro-chamber music?
